One way is to soft reset (poke the reset hole on the bottom of your iPAQ with the stylus). The ROM version number will be on the red and white splash screen at the bottom right.
Alternatively, it should be possible to find this out using the Asset Viewer - at least it is on a 3900 series. Start Menu, Settings, System tab, Asset Viewer, and press the 'plus' next to Version. You may find a spurious minor version number - if you see version 2.10.10, say, that probably means ROM version 2.10 (and what the extra .10 at the end means is known probably to HP only!).

Kit - Siemens SX45 with a Pretec Compact.
I installed and activated TTN2 about 3 weeks ago. Worked much the same as everyone else's experience. Today, went to upgrade to 2.22 and got the strangest result. After loading the upgrade, tried starting the app and it told me it needed to be activated. Went to the ttcode site but it wont give me another code for 170 days! (I've already migrated TTN2 from a Packard Bell to the Siemens when the Packie battery died). Thinking I would now be stuffed (Upgrade having over written the original load), I nevertheless re-installed from the original CD and hey presto it ran again with no need for reactivation.
Maybe this post should be under the Activation topic, but has anyone any ideas what is going on? Tom Tom website definitely says you will NOT need to reactivate after upgrade - I've got news for them! _________________ We're doooomed, Cap'n Mainwaring |

Gadjet, does your TTGPS program stop talking to your GPS receiver (i.e. the animation on the first screen stops "beaming") and, if so, what type of GPS receiver do you have?
And have you read this thread? |

Fuego,
When I look at the GPS status page the "beaming" has stoped.
I've read a few posts and I think the overheating of the Emtac is a possibility because my problems happened when it was very sunny.
I might try and external antenna and put the Emtac in the shade....

Gadjet, you should be sure to check this thread, if you haven't already then.
Did you test whether switching off your PDA (but leaving your emtac alone) and then switching it back on, re-established the link after 30 secs, or so? If it does, I doubt it's the Emtac unit over-heating.

This has happened to me. Can anyone tell me how to re-create the icon now that it has gone?

just taken it out for a spin
works ok - still won't find a couple of addresses from contacts - same problem as before but I now don't use this feature so not a biggie.
new look works well when driving.
2.22 - are we now 25% (well ok 22%) of the way to TTN3?

Guys, you should find 2.22 a lot better . Version 2.22 has been brought on the scene to upgrade it towards providing more support for US citizens, and to make the whole package that much more appealing when using the Navigator screen. |

Duncan
my problems with the contacts is that it consistently (say 40% of the time) offers me a place that has no relevance to me.
I have a couple of clients in Harston Cambridge and when I try to nav to or show on map I am consistently given addresses in Harston (Melton) with a totally different name and postcode.
What I want is queens close Harston CB2 what I am offered is "are you sure you want to show Collingwood Close LE13, Harston (Melton)in Great Britain" to which I say - NO I f%&*&^% well do not want you to show it!
I don't care that it selcts the wrong address, but its a concern that it selects the wrong road, the wrong Town, the Wrong County, the wrong postcode. It would be more useful if it said "chill out man I'm off to a coffee shop for some weed and can't find your address"!
The post codes in contacts are correct as is the address and the county (I've even tried changing to to the council name - South Cambridgshire) with no joy.
..... which why I no longer use this feature!
Cheers
Now I'm off to Starbucks for some weed, sorry I meant coffee and a biscuit.

Hi,
I've just tried upgrading to TTN2 ver 2.22 but I have the disclaimer screen coming up with the 'busy' icon just going round and round, I've tried re-installing the TTN2 then the upgrade but same thing is happening, any ideas?

The new finger tip 'Find' feature is useful, but why not put a 'Show on Map' button in the blank space on the bottom right of the screen, and wouldn't it be better to be able to set it as 'Set as destination' rather than 'Set as departure'.
Otherwise some useful improvements, and it's good to know that someone's listening to us and we're not just typing to a brick wall.
