Hello forum members;
What extra hardware would I need to make my XDA GPS enabled. Can I use tomtom? which receiver do I need? which POIs work?
I use to have a Medion with the Royaltex receiver and POI Warner, are any of these of any use for the XDA?
Thanks in advance |

i use an XDAIIs running tt5, i tried tt3 but it wouldn't let the bluetooth headset connect,vs5 works but when you terminate a call the gps disconnects the gps, so i now use a wired gps and its fine, if you use wired deselect the receive all beams check box in settings/ connections/ irda to relea e the serial port. for a mount i got one from o2 shop for around a tenner - good luck - mike |

Thanks for your response. I have taken the plunge and gone XDAIIi. Loaded TT5 and use the Royaltek (wired) receiver. Your advice on beams was spot on....thanks. Although I had little problem with set up. But all is cool now.
Just awaiting the day when either POIWARNER or CheckPoint will be available. |

glad you found it of use, I to am waiting for a compatable checkpoi for tt5 as the in built one is not very good, in fact i still prefer vs3 with bolt ons like the poi and full postcode (which of course i no longer use) - mike |
