Sounds suspiciously like Acer n35 with Destinator 3, but I may be wrong. If so the Speed Camera database will not work with this product
Do you have a URL or is it just in store?

It's the BlueMedia system from Evesham.
Great unit, and at £199.99 don't think you can go wrong.
I got mine last month when they were selling for £229.99 :-(
Still worth it though, cameras are in there when you switch it on, and can update them every month from www.lowestonweb.com/destinator

Yeah sorry. £199.99 ex VAT it is now.
I guess you could remove the Destinator software, but couldn't install TT5, as it's runs Win CE operating system.
What problems are you having with the Destinator? I've found it to be faultless for what I've used it for. Speed cameras being one of those things.

I don't have Destinator, I was just curious as to whether it would run TTN5 _________________ SW

The BlueMedia (AKA Mitac MIO 138) comes in several guises...
Navigon BlueMedia running Navigon Mobile Navigator
Medion MDPNA150 running Medion Navigator
...and the Makro version running Destinator.
This unit is a dedicated device and the software cannot be changed so whichever flavour you choose you will have to live with. _________________ Ian.

Is it bluetooth enabled as my motor has the heat reflective screen which also reflects sat signals?
Cheers Jim. |

No Bluetooth, but my dad has the BMW 7 series with the heat reflective windscreen, and it still gets signal through that.
There also seems to be a connector for an external aerial, but the aerial itself is not supplied.

This one would probably work, as the Navman 510 is based on the same hardware as the BlueMedia (Mio 138).
I'm sure you could find it cheaper elsewhere.
How long have you tried to get a GPS fix on your new device? When a sat-nav system is started for the first time, it can take up to an hour to get it's first fix.
Cheers

To date I don't seem to need an external aerial for my Acer N35 but is the one suggested above weatherproof. It will certainly need to be if you are just going to plonk it on your roof. |
