I'm not sure if it is relevant, but some BT devices have a "discoverable" mode which you need to switch on in order for other devices to see them. |

I asked Tom Tom the same question 3 days ago. They've just come back to me to say that the Sharp GX 15 isn't compatible. They don't say, however, what IS compatible - bless them! |

I have now been able to turn on my phone so the
Tom Tom knows the model and it says GX15 in the
Tom Tom but for some reason the Tom Tom is
still not linking up with the phone on the the Tom Tom
i do get a message that says make sure your
The following features were found Wireless Internet
connection I press continue and it says do you want to set
up your connection and it comes up with make sure your
phone allows automatic connections well i cannot find
anywhere on the phone that says it on or not then the
Tom Tom says select a phone and provider says its checking settings
and then says unable to setup wireless Internet connection
All that said all i want to do is use my Tom Tom for hands free but
alas I just bought this phone for this very thing.........

Sorry, but you cant use hands free with the 300. The bluetooth connection is just for the plus services such as traffic. |

Your not having any joy with your product selections, as the member above has told you the Go 300 is not a hands free device for your phone. Its only function is for traffic, weather and other PLUS services. However your mobile (GX15) only has bluetooth support for handsfree NOT for data transfer.
Basically you have two devices that are useless together as they are both missing key features. If you take the GO 300 back and pay the difference to the 500 then all shoulkd work fine for handsfree calling but you will never be able to get traffic/weather via the GX15 |

Hi
thanks for the reply i have just put my Tom tom 300
on ebay for sale going well as now £275 and still has
to run to Saturday i have put on order with amazon
the tom tom 500 i dont think i want the traffic
so will stick to the GX15 at the moment but I think
the adverts etc for the Tom Tom are not very good
as I saw that there were bluetooth on the 300 and asssumed
it would do the hands free now cost me a arm and a leg
Terry live & learn
BTW hope this helps anyone elase when they are considering which
