Custom menus

First of all thanx to ScaredyCat for posting this on mytomtomgo.com here

This is very usefull for us clasic go users using V5.X who dont want to see what we are missing with the grayed out icons.

thanks. Scaredycat had posted the stuff here too. The GO runs on Linux, so it is VERY important to get the folder name written exactly as mentioned above.

Now the only platform left to conquer is the Palm. Anyone tried with the new folder spelling?

In addition, if you'd like to reconfigure the Change Preferences pages add this to the end of the tomtom.mnu file

Don't know if I am reading this wrong, but is the purpose of this just to re-position the menu icons, or is it a bit more exciting than that (only asking b4 I try it out) Twisted Evil

These are the benefits:

- reposition the icons and save some taps, hide features you don't ever need
- discover that there are a few settings (brightness/voice prompts) that were not reachable previously

It depends, if you want to move some of the options about it's of use to all users. For example, if you often switched maps, you might want the option on the first screen. If you don't have a bluetooth phone, you might want to remove all those extra options that are greyed out...

That sort of thing..

Don't know, but if you look at the text, it's not even capitalised at the start of the sentence - Tut Tut.. :P

Have you tried it while out on the road? Does it do what it's supposed to?

yes, it does - gets rid of two annoyances at once. A real shame that they have decided not to implement it in the release version.
