Hi
been using the camera database on my hp 2210 and TT 3 with no problems, upgraded to TT5 and followed the instruction (thanks) about putting all the files into the Great_Britain_Plus-Map on the sd card but still no camera database in poi list. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong because it seems that no matter where I put the camera database files they do not show up on the poi's. |

Hi landslide,
You’re definitely using the PocketGPSWorld camera database?
Have you loaded both the .OV2 files and their respective .BMP files into the relevant map folder?
How many POIs have you down loaded? TomTom Navigator 5 can handle significantly less POIs than Navigator 3. I think the maximum is now 40. Try removing all POIs and then adding a few back at a time.

Hi Privateer
thanks for getting back to me, if I go into file explorer, sd card, Great-Britain-plus-Map, pocketgps-uk-sc, I've the got a list of all the files and they include csv files and ov2 bmp files. You say the number of poi's is limited to forty, is that catagories? In my poi's list I've just got the standard TT catagories ie Hospital/clinic through to Zoo about 43 in total but only about three are enabled. I can add/remove additional poi catagories but i don't seem to be able to get rid of TT originals.
Hope this helps, it's probably something I'm doing wrong but I can't see what .
ps do I still need Checkpoint 3.2 if so where do I put it?
Thanks. |

Hi landslide,
Have you read the sticky guide on installing (camera database) POIs to TomTom Navigator 5, which can be found in the TomTom Navigator forum?
Have a read of that and it should answer all of your questions.
BTW, no you don’t need CheckPOInt 3.2. In fact no third party add-on can work with TomTom Navigator 5 because TomTom have not yet released the SDK.
The number of custom POIs (i.e. not the default ones that come with TomTom Navigator 5) is limited to 40. Custom POIs are the .OV2 files, and the associated .BMP files are for the icons to be displayed on screen.

Hi Privateer,
reloaded TT5, downloaded the speed camera database, unzipped, cut and pasted it to the sd card in the Great_Britain_Plus-map, start TT5, go to change preferences, manage poi, enable poi, but no speed camera poi to enable, I've tried several soft resets and someone in another thread suggested you needed to create an additional poi category to make the camera database appear but all to no avail.
I must be doing something wrong but for the life of me I can't see what. Any suggestions other than banging my head against a brick wall .
Thanks for taking the time to reply. |

that reads as if you've created a sub-folder called pocketgps-uk-sc in the map folder ?
you just need to copy the ov2 and bmp files into the map folder _________________ SW

Hi soweezy
thanks for that, thats what I'd done just took the whole folder and pasted it into the GB map folder, now just pasted the individual files in there and there they all are the missing poi's. Thats what I like about this forum there are people like yourself and Privateer who help wallys like myself . Thanks to both of you. |

Hi landslide,
Glad to be of help.
By the way, I’ve rewritten step 3 a little, so that it's easier to see that it should be files and not folders. Thanks to soweezy for pointing it out!
