It's TTnav2 and our US Team Member Lutz Bendlin has been taking part in Tom Tom's US field trials. Unfortunately we we are subject to an NDA and cannot publish a preview until the full commercial release is available but stay tuned! _________________ Darren Griffin |

Yes, this is what i am waiting for. H2215 is coming out on the 15th of June and Tomtom is coming out in ten days, perfect timing. Does anyone know if they would offer their new bluetooth and software soon? If they do how much? Man, I can't wait. Thanks |

Knowing HP's track record so far, I'd seriously want to hold off of the 2215 until things like the Bluetooth stack is verified to be good. The 5450 has taken a serious backward step in terms of Bluetooth and most people are going back to purchase older 3970's because of this. Don't say I didn't warn you if it turns out bad. I do know the feeling, I'm always out to get the latest technology as soon as it hits the shelves (or even sooner), and I hope HP have ironed out their issues with the 5450 to make a much better Pocket PC.
TomTom Bluetooth GPS, their trying to get manufactured stock in at the moment, I think it will probably be mid June before people start receiving them, maybe a little later, but like anything else, I'm sure there will be not enough stock to go around, so some people may have to wait a while (like with TomTom Navigator 2). |

Freeway, the problem isn't Pocket PC 2002 OS because that's what the 3870, 3970 runs, it's a problem with the code in the chip for Bluetooth, and the new Bluetooth stack that's included by HP. I hope they rectify it as it's going to really dampen sales of HP gear if the 2200 series comes out with similar issues. |

Dave, thank you for explanation about the bluetooth problem with h5454. I do hope the H2215 doesn't have the same problem. |

It is rumoured that Pocket PC 2003 contains a Bluetooth stack in the OS, rather than leaving the provision of one up to each Bluetooth PDA or add-in card vendor. (This would fit with what has happened with Windows XP, where Microsoft have developed a Bluetooth stack for it).
Only time will tell whether this is right, though it should help compatibility if it is.

Does anyone know how the Tele Atlas maps that TomTom uses compares to the NavTech maps?
I had always heard that the NavTech were the 'gold standard' and as such were the ones chosen by the auto manufacturers for the on-board systems?
Also - wonder if TomTom will have a 'map only' price for existing TTN2 customers (there is a software only price of $179). I've recently moved from the UK to the US, so need a new GPS solution. TTN2 was great once the initial release bugs were worked out, and now all I'm wondering about it the quality of the map data. |

NavTech are considered the best maps for Europe, although TeleAtlas are coming up fast from behind. You'll mainly see differences in searching for place names and some roads aren't as perhaps up to date compared to NavTech's maps which is something that many TomTom users complain about. |
