We've been re-reading the TomTom wishlist and have noticed that Blueblood posted the following:
"... The ability to say I want to navigate to Amsterdam City center (or any other city for that matter) without having to give street name or house number."
This used to be high on our wishlist too. It seemed very frustrating that, in order to be able to navigate to a strange town, you had to know the name of a street in that town. Quite a Catch 22!
However, we recently found that you can (usually) do it in TTN2. All you have to do is repeat the name of the town instead of giving a street name. For example, if you select the Find Address screen, enter Oxford as the "City" then enter Oxford as the "Street" and confirm that you want to find Anywhere in that "street" TomTom will take you to the junction of High Street and Turl Street, which is pretty central. Similarly if you enter London then London you get taken to Parliament Square.
I say "usually" because the system falls over if you try to find the centre of a town that is not in TomTom's database. For example, if you try to locate St Ives in Cornwall you are liable to end up either near Bournemouth or in Huntingdonshire.

After selecting the City I ususally backspace, this deletes whatever is in the street field and then press ok. This will then place you at a "logical" centre point in that city/town/village.

Superb! Cheers Richard. Wish I'd read this thread before I drove through France. _________________
