Tony, Compaq are the usual preferred Pocket PC by many. Dell do have issues connecting GPS Receivers to the bottom sync port. They work, but sometimes they can be problematic depending on which cables you use.
If cost is no issue, then a Compaq iPAQ 3870/3970 and a Bluetooth wireless GPS Receiver would be my preference. |

Hi
Even though mine has just gone wrong! I would recommend the Socket/Emtac Bluetooth GPS with the HP unit (I use a 5450)
Have a look at the reviews on this site, excellent range.

All the iPAQ speakers are loud except for the 54xx series so there is no problem with the 3970's volume. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Take a look at our Hardware Reviews page. Most of these work very well, the only one which is highlighted on our TTFF page as having long TTFF's really is the Pretec LP.
If you're looking for Bluetooth, then the Emtac/Socket BT GPS is good, or for a cabled system a Leadtek, Holux or RoyalTek all do good GPS Receivers. |
