I have now installed the camera database but while I am sitting at home the TTG is alerting me to a camera down the road which definitely doesn't exist and black figures underneath a speed camera symbol, change from 75 down to 45. Anyone any ideas what is wrong? |

While sitting at home the Go will not be able to tell exactly where you are. You "position" will wander about. The black figures are the distance from the camera, so if the GO thinks you are wandering the distance will change.
If camera is shown in the wrong place, report it to Cameras@PocketGPSWorld.com The database is maintained by the "users" that's why it's still free. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

I found it is helpful to edit the name of the files so that he PocketGPS_uk is removed from the names. This way yuo can manage them more easily. (You must of course change the name of the bmp files as well...)
Also you only have to update the ov2 files as the bmp remain the same.
Hope this helps |

You will, of course, have to change the filenames every time you update the camera database (at the end of every month).
In case it's of interest, I do the following:
Unzip the new files, and copy the .ov2's which I want into a folder called "Latest_ov2" on my PC. In that folder is a utility called _XRENAME.EXE (which I downloaded from somewhere or other - but you can Google for it) and a small batch file which I wrote called Short_name.bat which contains the following line:
_xrename "pocketgps_"
Double clicking on the batch file renames all the files in the folder by stripping the leading "pocketgps_" from each name. [In my case, I leave the uk bit - but could just as easily get rid of that too]. _________________ Roger

Is there any way I could have somehow got this camera in the wrong place by installing a poi or something, and if so is it possible to delete this one wrong camera without losing all the same poi category?
One other question. Is it possible to increase the size of the speed limit symbols? They are there along with the camera symbol on the route, but are difficult to read while driving
Thanks for the help |

You can use the Change Preferences/Maintain POI menu to add or delete individual POIs within imported POI categories - but you can't change the built-in POIs. [Be careful when deleting POIs to select "Delete POI" and not "Delete POI Category"!]

If you look further up this thread, and find a post from Andy_P2002, you'll find a link to some alternative .BMP files - which may do what you want. [The overall icon size can't be increased, but the number may be clearer in these new files].
Are you using the modified voice promps which say "Gatso 40 MPH" etc. rather than just sounding bells and whistles? If not, this is something for you to investigate because it makes it less necessary to be able to see the icons. _________________ Roger

Thanks for the info. I am using the standard sounds so I may have to look into the voice prompts when I get time. |
