SPV C500 TomTom 5 mobile /Pocket pc trick.

Hi

Was playing with my tomtom 5 mobile on my spv c500 racing my mate with the same tomtom 5 pocket pc version on his Ipaq to see who got there first when planning routes and, hey he murdered me everytime.

Now he had purchased a europe upgrade and had all europe maps down to street level, so i tried one of his italian plus maps on my mini SD card and bingo it works perfectly right down to street level, tried all of them and they all worked. Why ? I thought pocket pc and mobile were differant platforms ! So thanks to him i have access to full europe when ever i need.. Just thought you would like to know.

Is the software supported also or are the hand helds and mobiles different platforms?

As Far as i know they are supposed to be differant platforms thats why i was supprised my tomtom mobile opened the pocket pc version maps. I did not try to install his full version just copied the individual maps over and my program opened his maps..
