|
|
Hi guys,
I am sure I have read somewhere that TT5 is able to use the contacts database on the Pocket PC in order to save typing in endless addresses etc. If so, I have been unable to find this feature.
Can someone out there confirm whether it can be integrated with the contacts database, if so how do I do it.....or have I just dreamed it all??
Regards,
Andrew |

Open a Contact > Tools > Navigate to
Expect to get a "Found Problems analzing the contacts address" error. |

Where do I find the "contacts" menu item.....there is no sign of it on any of the TT5 menu screens?

You don't access this option through tomtom.
Go to your contacts list on the pda.
Hold down the stylus on a contact and one of the options will be "navigate to"
Or as above you can select the contact and then go to tools - navigate to, click on ok
Tom tom will then launch and navigate to the destination.....hopefully |

Hello again.......
That does seem a bit of a pain tho.......having to exit TT5 to find a contact only for it then to restart (hopefully) and make a connection through to the GPS receiver (hopefully again)........!!
It would be much more efficient (from and end-user point of view) to have a button within TomTom to open up the contacts database....surely??
Maybe an idea for a future upgrade?

I think the priority is to get the thing working
You can access your contact from the hardware buttons on most PPCs. |

Hi
I've got problems with this as well. When I try a "navigate to" or "show on map" from my contacts I get an error "No maps found, please install and activate an original TomTom Navigator 3 map first" - (I upgraded from 3 to 5). I tried unistalling, then re-installing the PIMAddIn.cab (that was tricky because it was telling me there were sharing violations & couldn't remove some of the files). I eventually got it re-installed, but still get the same error. Anyone any ideas?
Cheers

Hi
I've found that if I already have navigator5 running, then use a hardware button to get to my contacts, this option will work for me. It's a shame people have to keep finding work-arounds to get these features to work...
Cheers
