Hi,
Has anyone bought one of these from Ebay. They seem to be going for about £100 as opposed to the £130 from the normal online shops. Some of those on Ebay are UK sellers.
Anyone else bought from Ebay??/
Thanks

At present I am testing a Holux 236 with sirf 3. I would recommend this product as it is compact and does get a lock fast. I got a lock on the dashboard then put it in the glove box of the a Ford Focus and it still held the GPS signal for sometime. Really am impressed as I work in the industry I see a lot of different products coming through some good and some not so good. I don’t know how much they will be selling for but I would recommend you look at the 236 before you buy anything. _________________ Regards

got mine from vita system on ebay. generally the 338 is great, had a hiccup the other day when testing it out on memorymap, wouldnt get a fix during a 30 minute walk.
I thought I would have to do a factory reset, but it righted itself. |

30 minutes that’s strange why it would take so long even in the house it wouldn’t take more than a minute |

it is odd. Ive just turned it on now and its sitting by my window..ahh its just fixed. took about 2 minutes. I think I'll give it a factory reset and see if it improves. |

If its been off for a long time then 2 minutes seems normal but if it ever takes anything like 30 mins then maybe its faulty because I know in the holux 236 theirs a few early ones that take a long time to get a fix something to do with a dodgy firmware I think |

In reference to the size comments, I have a BT338 (bought off ebay - Zabara1) and I have an MDA compact.
The GPS is about 60% of the size of the MDA, although a lot deeper. It is the same width as an Sony T610, and 2/3 the length (but twice the depth).
GPS works fine (6 sats when indoors), and delivery was quick too - with tracking etc. |
