I have almost what I feel is the perfect configuration with the 3970 running TTN2, Emtac BT GPS and an Arkon CM505 Multimedia mount. However, I could do with some power for the Emtac. The Arkon has a DC output on the side. If I had a cable with a couple of 1.7mm DC connectors at either end, would connecting the Emtac to the Arkon allow it to charge the Emtac? - that would be perfection!
No info with the Arkon to say what the voltage coming out is - just says "DC Out jack on side of cradle lets you charge mobile phone devices".
Can anyone help? |

The output that you refer to, on the Seidio Mount, which I understand is the same as the Arkon, is 5v 0.8 a. I use one of these mounts and charge my EMTAC BT GPS (when required) using this output. See my post on the Seidio Mount under accessories. |

Hi,
I have the Arkon Multimedia mount and it can charge the ipaq and Emtac (Socket). Beware however, I noticed that my Socket BTGPS ran quite warm when connected to it, and hence only use it when absolutely necessary, I would be interested to hear your views on it once you have given it a try.
Regards,
