in tomtom gps screen - GPS tab
select NMEA 0183v2 9600
select Bluetooth serial port com ???
??? being the number of the incoming bt serial port - if you are unsure which is which try both until;.
on the STATUS tab
you see dots running from sat icon to pda icon
then you should see the red bars on the tomtom display.

Thanks for your help on this, I have the little dots running across from the sat to the handheld on the tomtom gps and the time is displaying, how long does it normally take for all the data to take in to effect and display details like N & E and MPH???
any help would be appreciated |

do you have a clear view of the sky?
The first time you use it it can take half an hour to download the info as the sats come into view - after this it should be less than a minute.
I would leave it outside away from building etc for 15 + minutes and you should get a fix.
Are there any grey bars showing - these will turn red when a fix is made?

ok so now I have read all the posts all over the net, I have upgraded the tomtom gps componet this has changed the icon , it seems to work better . I have also installed the app : VisualGPSce which shows me what sats are in view and helps tons. I did try and install the latest TOMTOM GPS that you can download from this site BUT after installation it asks me to install a proper version of tomtom and cant find maps... so i have taken it back to GPS version 3.07 rather than Version 4. any news on the newer version of GPS out there that works on all pocket pcs ! |

version 3.07 is the latest version that works on all pocketpc's!
stick with it until ttn5 comes out - which will come with a revised gps section. _________________ -----------------------------------------------------------

I rcvd this receiver the other day. It has worked a total of two times for me. My current problem is that I get the flashing red light (sat lock) and I have it successfully paired to my laptop, despite these two facts, I don't show any data crossing the line. I've tried numerous programs (terminal, visualgps, visualgpsxp) to try to see the data, but no luck. MS Autoroute 2005 says it can see the port, but that there's no gps data. Does anyone out there have any clues?

So are these 2 the same device just a different case?
I really don't know what to do - it seems a risk with these but I can't afford like 150 quid from a shop - would ppl recomend these to use with Route 66 and Nokia 7610??
Cheers,

If you've got the BT-77 (the 2nd picture above) then a Nokia 6230 battery will fit. Don't know about the other one sorry, but they do look the same ?? |
