Hi Guys
I currently use TTNav2 here in the UK, but am travelling to the USA for a few weeks on business and want to use my PPC for navigation in my hire car. What software do you guys recommended? I have looked at Destinator2 which looks the best but if you guys have a better solution...
Thanks

I was in the same predicament as you a couple of weeks back - I purchased Mapopolis for about £66 over the web and downloaded the maps. It is not quite as nice as TT, but it does the job. Also, you can just download a full functioning free demo which lasts for 7 days if your trip is short! www.mapopolis.com |

I have a copy of Autoroute USA which I have never used. I presume I could use Pocket Streets USA but it does not do turn by turn navigation? |

mapopolis errors when trying to specify routes that cover a large population (San fran - Yosemite for instance) so while it claims to allow maps to be joined the reality is quite different.
Destinator 2 is much better swoftware with great POI's (loads of hotels and rental car garages)and a TT Nav 2 style 3d map and routing. It doesn't allow maps to be joined which is a bummer, but you can see where the maps join and plan destinations accordingly and then switch to the next map.
Hope that helps. |
