Hi all
Just got back from Holland, as mentioned in another topic on this site. Navman worked fine, but gave me a few quirks.
I set up my trip by using locations as favorites. Example home to the Tunnel, Calais to my destination.
With a GPS fix, selected favorites and the one that I wanted. It would then calculate the route, after reaching 100% it would then lose GPS and take about 45 seconds to a minute to regain sat fix. This was when stationary. It did this at every start point. It dose not seem to do this at home on other trips.
It sent me on a wild goose chase on my homeward trip. It sent me into Ghent, at a traffic light it wanted me to do a ‘U’ turn, Left and left again, back up the road I had just traveled. With a no ‘U’ turn sign at the lights, I just turned left and it then recalculated the route losing sat fix at the end.
With no POI’S checked it seemed to load up & display all of them including the compass.
With the map quality is not as good as the UK maps, it took a while to get used to them.
Apart from the above oddities it done its job.
Regards.

I bought my Navman in Holland and use it every day. The only times I encounter the problem you described is if I venture into Rotterdam or The Hague. I haven't used it in Amsterdam as yet. All I do is drive until I find a "larger" road. Once there it locks in and takes me home. The problem may have something to do with the "lanes" that the dutch believe are really "streets". I've never driven on such a convoluted and narrow road system in my life. The freeways are great, the bigger cities are shocking.
