Thanks I assume it is chargeable, and do you know when it is available? |

Check out the www.TomTom.com site. You can register for the upgrade now. Shipping is imminent according to some of our users. _________________ Mike Barrett |

I feel gutted that, having one month ago, just bought Tomtom Go for £400, the new version is out now which has full postcode searching and is cheaper!! Whay on earth cant they just give TTG users the map upgrade for the cost of CD plus packaging?! £40 seems steep.
I feel this is very unfair, what can I do about it? Is there any way to get the latest UK maps for free?

I'm sorry to say that you, like many TTG owners, are a victim of Tom Tom's policy on "free" upgrades. They only upgrade the firmware for free (which is more than Navman do !).
You will have to order the upgrade for £61 inc postage if you want the new maps. I have bitten the bullet and done just that but I will not be buying any more in the future as it would appear that the new maps are little better than the old one (from comments made by TT300 users).
The postcode search will be useful and that's why I've upgraded.
I was asked for a recommendation on which Nav system to buy by a colleague this week.... I am VERY sad to say I didn't feel able to recommend Tom Tom as a company so couldn't help. He's looking at the Navman and Mio product lines now. |

Yes but it now turns out that full postcode searching could have been made available with the old maps... A synical way of squeezing more money out of us was by making it part of the new map which apparently are still full of road errors reported many months ago... If my new GB map have not been dispatched I would have cancelled my order... _________________ Life's a bitch... then I met Jane... |

Having said that I have never tried to get a refund on this basis. _________________ Mike Barrett |
