Hi Quest users,
is there a way to connect the quest to my autocom system? I have not seen a Quest in the flesh and the only reference I can find regarding audio out is that it is combined with the power charging system.
I have been told that a powered mount will be out shortly but the dealers cannot tell me when.
Thanks for any info.
Cheers

I have the official Garmin motorcycle mount. It allows me to bike power the Quest, but most importantly you also get a 3.5mm audio out connection. You must bike power the Quest for the audio to be available.
You also need the Autocom 3.5mm GPS cable - you'll need an isolated one if the autocom is bike powered to avoid interference, but get their advice as they are very helpful. |

Call Top Gear 888-851-4327, Tech line (x3).
I just bought a Quest2 and called them today. They have the goods. |

My quest works great with my Autocom. Just plug in the 3.5mm Jack and away you go.
PS I have the official Garmin Motorcycle mount. |

My goodies arrived today:
*Quest 2 w/motorcycle kit and RAM ball adapter from TVNAV
*Autocom 2 into 1 adapter (for GPS and cell phone) from Top Gear (autcomamerica.com).
It all seems to be cool but... I'm still at work. Tonight I'll get it setup and put some pics on my website.
I'll also include part numbers for the parts.
If I don't get this stuff posted tonight it's because I'm leaving tomorrow for three days. I'll post up on Monday. |

Were you able to get this working?
I just hooked up my new Autocom (Active 7) and my Quest on my motorcycle. Both seem to work well, but I have one problem: I get no sound from the Quest when it's hooked up through the "Phone" port on the Autocom. Seems to work fine in the "Music" port. This is an problem because I'd like to be able to listen to both music and GPS.
Is this the way it's intended to be? The manual for the Autocom suggests that I should be able to hook it up through the Phone port.
Thanks,
Aaron |

Hi Aaron. I don't have an Autocom, but I've been doing some research about it in anticipation of buying one. There is a lead you need to buy to plug in a GPS without using a phone. It is part number 174, and costs £24 according to the website. Give them a call! |
