Did you wonder why when TomTom released information about Navigator 2 that stated on their website they said you would be able to remove the GPS Receiver from it's magnetic docking station ?
Has everyone who purchased the latest receiver find it not possible ? We'll let you into a little secret, this is why....
TomTom are producing a new GPS Receiver with docking station and Bluetooth connectivity.
The new GPS 9821 pictured below is the new GPS Receiver.

The new GPS receiver sports the following specification:-- 12 Channels All-In-View Tracking
- Position accuracy of 10 meters 2D RMS
- Cold/Warm/Hot Start Time: 45/38/8 Seconds
- Reacquisition Time: 0.1 seconds
- RF connector for external GPS antenna
- Supports Standard NMEA-0183
- Supports Trickle Power mode Power Saving
- Compatible with Bluetooth devices with Serial Port Profile (SPP)
- Superior Sensitivity for Urban Canyon and Foliage Environment
- Small, sleek, and lightweight design easily fits in your hand
- Two LEDs indicating Bluetooth and GPS activity
- Lithium-ion battery lasting full working day typical use
- On/off push button
- Dimensions: 1.81 x 3.38 x 0.75 / 46mm x 86mm x 19mm
With TomTom's previous alliances with Leadtek, and Leadtek's newest Bluetooth GPS Receiver announced at Ce-Bit, and the product number designation, it sounds very much like that this will be a Leadtek GPS Receiver. |

Don't know, it hasn't officially been accepted for Bluetooth qualification, but that wouldn't take long. |

That's pretty small!
Where did you get the info and the images? I couldn't find anything on tomtom's own site? |

Info is from the Bluetooth Qualification Program Website here.
TomTom have made no official announcement but this would explain the confusing description of the detatchable mount in the original TTNav2 launch blurb! _________________ Darren Griffin |
