Hi,
I have just purchased a Medion PNA 100 for a trip to Europe as the attraction was the European maps. Can anyone please tell me how to load the maps onto the PC as I have no idea and Map Exporter 4.0 is not with the package. I have spoken to the technical staff at the company who were of no help at all and the retailer ,Halfords is unable to help. The manual is not much help either.
Thanks |

Hi
you should have 5 CD Roms with the package one CD is the OS with utilities for Pocket PC the other 4 are labeled 1 to 4 you need CD1 the Map export program is on this just follow the prompts on the screen. After you have loaded the map export you can download the program and UK Maps via active sync.

Hi Mazda,
If you have the latest version of the software 4.4 - there is no Map export software on there.
You will need to copy the Map folders for each country on to the card. If you are using the standard 256MB card - you'll be strapped for space, depending on what countries you want to use.
Check the thread about the 1GB SD Card for more details.
Hope this helps, Ponty. |

Hi Ponty,
Many thanks for your response which is appreciated. My problem also seems to be opening the map files as it gives an error message that ' Unable to open the file as it is not supported or corrupted by trying to attach as an e-mail attachment' which has never happened.
Regars

If you're trying to open them on your PC - you've got no chance.
You need to either put the SD card in a card reader on your PC, or shuffle the directory(s) you want across onto the Storage Card on your POcket PC using Explorer in Windows on your PC with your Medion attached.
Card reader is much quicker.
If you are getting the error when trying to use them on the PDA, then again you can't open them directly.
When you start Navigator on the PDA , one of the options is Select Maps, choose this, then scroll for the maps. Click OK - it will force a restart of Navigator, which after it quits, you'll have to carry out - start it up, and the map you chose should be the main map. |
