Nope mine still says 'Warehouse' and as been like that since last week. I emailed TT to ask when I am likely to recieve it - typically they said 'in the next 5 weeks'. Where is it coming from - Outer Mongolia? _________________ Audi S4

Just received this reply from tomtom:
Dear Sir/Madam,
Please disregard the last email.
TomTom is always striving for the best service possible for our customers.
In order to do so we are in a constant process of change and improvement.
Unfortunately sometimes unexpected things do happen.
While we were upgrading our system, an error occurred on the website.
The unfortunate result was that the upgrade order(s) you placed on the website between April 13th 2005 01:00PM and April 14th 2005 05:00PM was/were cancelled.
You have received a notification about this earlier this week.
Please be assured that the payment(s) for your cancelled order(s) has/have not been taken from your account.
Please accept our sincere apologies for this inconvenience.
What to do?
We have reactivated your productcode(s), to enable you to place a new order for the upgrade(s).
To place an order please click the following link:
http://www.tomtom.com/shop/upgrade.php?action=mobile
Thank you for your understanding and best regards,
TomTom Customer Support
Guess what happens when i now try to enter the product code?
Yes you guessed it -THIS PRODUCT CODE IS NOT VALID!
Thanks Tomtom. |

Makes you wonder if these are in fact pre-orders-i.e they not ready to ship at the moment anyway?- |

I contacted TomTom because I bought TomTom Mobile 4 on the 2nd February, 12 days before they issued their press release on the upcoming TomTom Mobile 5. I understand them wanting to charge an upgrade fee for older users, but as I had only just bought the product I felt that an upgrade fee was unfair in my case.
Their response was as follows:-
"We are sorry that you feel badly treated, but unfortunately we cannot do anything for you in this matter. We do release updates for our products from time to time, and we hope you understand that it would be completely unfeasible to give you any deduction in price or similar, merely because of bad timing. Bad timing when it comes to upgrades, is a risk you run every time you buy anything. Besides, the update is not mandatory, it is completely your choice.
Also, the first pressrelease about the upgrade was made as early as in february, you can find this pressrelease pasted into this mail a bit further down. This was also all over the GPS community online."
In other words, they are happy they got my £170, and don't give a stuff that they announced an upgrade 12 days afterwards that they expect me to pay more money for.
This just smacks of arrogance and a complete disregard for customer loyalty. Are they selling so well at the moment that they can afford to upset brand new customers? That will come back to haunt them when their competitors catch up.
And speaking of their competitors, that's who I will be looking to buy GPS software from in future. I am frankly disgusted. |

Has anyone had any updates on there order status? Mine still says warehouse. It's very annoying especially as they have my cash already as my account was debited. I'm getting very impatient now can't wait to try it out :D _________________ TOMTOM MOBILE 5

Even though I feel for you it's understandable on TomTom's part , it's like buying a new PC and wanting a free upgrade because a new processor comes out a month later, it just doesn't work like that. Best thing to do would be to upgrade and sell your old software on ebay or something, that way you will make most if not all of the upgrade fee back as it's only £60 inc postage. _________________ TOMTOM MOBILE 5

I asked TT for an update as mine still says 'warehouse'. They replied they hadnt received the payment yet. Not sure what thay means becasue payment has been made. I asked what this actually means and still await their up to date response. _________________ Audi S4

This sounds very familiar!
The same issues seamed to have happened the last time they did a product update form TOMTOM 2 for the PDA to TOMTOM3. I was hoping that they would have got their act together by now.
Excellent software, shame about their support and customer services. _________________ Please follow me on twitter @mdyson1968 |

Mine still says 'authorised- warehouse' almost 10 days after placing the order. Seems as if they have opened up the upgrade procedure without having the product or logistics ready... _________________ Audi S4
