|
|
I have just upgraded my IPAQ from OS 2002 to 2003 which installed ok first time after upgrading to the recommended ROM first. I have installed all my software and it all runs ok except TomTom Navigator 3 which shows the spinning icon for about a second and then hangs the IPAQ. I have removed and re installed and get exactly the same problem each time.
Has anyone had this problem and how did you resolve it?
Many thanks

Not sure what you mean by BT GPS? Its a standard iPAQ 5450 with an upgrade from the 2002 OS which came on it to the latest 2003 OS which I purchased through the HP website. |

>Has anyone had this problem<
There's a thread on the Navman forum about TomTom 3 with iPaqs upgraded to Windows 2003. The consensus was that TomTom don't support this. |

This seems strange as I have a hx4700 with WM 2003 SE and the only thing it will not do is rotate into landscape....And TomTom tells you!
Are you also starting any other options such as CheckPOInt or Trafcam?
In addition have you tried just starting the TomTom GPS and checking if that is setup correctly first. Most of my hangs rate to the GPS not starting up in an orderly fashion. _________________ iPhone5, TomTom, Google maps, Navfree, Viewranger and Apple Maps (ekk) |

Found the problem. The maps were already installed on my SD card so initially didnt reinstall them. You dont get an error saying they are not installed so presume they are being found. After reading a few posts on the net I decided to format my card and did a full reinstall - maps and all and it now works fine. I do you CheckPOInt 3.2 and where as it used to hang occasionally or take ages for the options to appear, it is now instant and starts nav3 immediately so a lot better than before.
Hope this helps someone and thanks to all for advice as it did help.
Regards
