|
|
As TT Home won't let me buy the 12 years subscription because I already have it (support request in, but no response in two days), I am pondering cancelling what appears to be the standing order. But I can't find anywhere that controls it, either in home, or on the web. All I can do is add it to my cart.
Does anyone know how to edit the settings, or am I stuck paying for it for life? |

If you can't do it via TomTom, then try from the opposite end:
Do you use on-line banking? If you do, sign onto your account and list the Direct Debits and Standing Orders and cancel the one(s) that you no longer require.
If you don't use on-line banking then you'll need to contact you bank and ask for details of Direct Debits and Standing Orders and then deal with as necessary.

Unfortunately Live Services are paid using "Continuous Payment Authority"
See this thread You have no choice but to cancel through TomTom as your bank and Credit Card company can't stop it (apparently!) |

I also don't want to annoy TomTom - after all I do want to keep using the service. In fact I want to pay via PayPal since that is an option now apparently.. |

Yes PayPal is an option - I've just paid for 6 months of live services using it.
I thought it was a better option than them getting their hands on my card details after everything I have read on here. |

It is as simple as:
Quote: | Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Care in regards to the cancellation of your Live Services.
The subscription will terminate with a 30 notice period. The notice period will start from the next payment date. At the end of this notice period, a final payment is made signifying the end of the subscription. After the final payment, you will still be able to use the Live Services on your TomTom for another month.
The cancellation is made in accordance to the general Terms & Conditions of TomTom which you agreed to when placing the order.
Once this has been cancelled you can go into HOME and purchase the prepaid offer.
If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me and I will be more than happy to help you further.
With Kind Regards |
Err, what? I think that means that I've given notice (not quite as easy as the "quit at any time" I thought we were offered. So I've given notice, I wait, they take more money, I wait again, and in a few months time when it all stops working I can buy it again. I think.
OK. At least they haven't just stopped it as I need HD traffic over Easter! |

That is a crazy Cancelletion Process,
So much for month to month, basically if you went to cancel the day after your payment was taken you would still have paid service for 90 days (and a further 2 payments taken).
I can understand them taking notice from the next payment date, but taking a further payment at the end of the notice period and tying you in for a further 30 days is just obscene money grabbing. |

What happens when your credit card paying for the Live Services expires and is replaced? _________________ Drivelux |
