So mapsettings.cfg contains all the settings - for example - which POI alerts (obviously not the sounds, but the settings for them) etc

my TomTom One is being replaced due to a couple of problems ... but how easy will it be to restore all the settings, POIs, replaced sounds etc?
Is it simply a case of restoring the old backup ... |

and in truth i dont think there are that many tomtom owners out there who would turn there noses up at a "free" map upgrade from a mate if they thought it actually had their street on it and wasnt fiv ... |

The Road Angel Navigator 6000 gets good reviews on one site in particular (but the rumour is he works for Road Angel) - so it seems it's pretty much useless when it comes to Sat Nav and camera databas ... |
