I was going to look on eBay etc - as long as the map is genuine - will it be "locked" ... |

I also found that some can be converted by GPSBabel others can't.
I looked at the ones that can't be opened with Notepad. The problem is their header - it says "Ord Srvy Grt Britn" but should say "W ... |

I have tried to convert from GPSU .plt files to .gpx or .mmo without success using GPS Babel - no route or track data is produced.
What "input format" do you use.
