Are you referring to the unlit-blue-light-of-death syndrome that I ... |

I wonder if the Royaltek somehow is dying then?
I didn't change any of the PPC settings and after messing around for a while I did get it to work the first time... I gave up the second time because ... |

Hi Dave,
Nope, don't have TomTom installed. Mapopolis is the only GPS program that's ever been installed on there.
The GPS used to work all of the time, but after not using it for a while (a few ... |

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone had this problem (and a possible solution?) to these kinds of BT problems...
I have an Ipaq H4155, a RBT-3000, and Mapopolis GPS software.
The BT Manager can ... |

I believe my parcel shelf is made out of wood, but there is a metal frame mounted on its underside to house the speakers, wires, rear brake light, etc.
Currently, I have the GPS power cord snaking ... |

Looks like the LiOn is a pretty complicated beast with its onboard circuitry (I wonder if this is also used to check charge status?).
As for me, I'm all set now with the Royaltek, but if you want t ... |

It's funny that you mention that... my friend and I were talking about the exact same thing last Saturday!
Wiring the power probably wouldn't be too hard, but where it gets messy is the part where ... |

Hi gypsy666,
I believe both units (the Holux & the Royaltek) have internal batteries.
In the case of the Holux, the unit requires the battery - even if plugged into the car. It also requires tha ... |

Hi Darren,
I just wanted to thank you again for the great help!

Hi Gazjen,
I think the consumption is 5V, 850 mA, but I have no idea on the wattage. The Royaltek came in on Saturday morning (day after it shipped, which is a surprise) and works like a charm!

Hi Grimble,
Yes, I read that those can be hard wired into the car, but that were hard to acquire these days. I wonder what it is that makes the unit so prone to dying?
Anyways, thanks to Darren, ... |

Thanks Darren,
That's what it took to raise me over 50/50 on deciding! Time to contact Semsons and see if they'll change the order from Haicom to Royaltek!
