hard reset hasnt done anything.
Aparently SirfTech can do a factory and software reset - could either of of them possably 'cure' the problem?
edit: relised it didnt make sense. |

A hard reset is ok as I only have Tomtom on it as I only did a rebuild a few months ago as it had loads of toot on it.

It's in a PDA so removing the battry is possable.
I've not played with it, though I'm tempted to see if you can do a reset via NMEA.

I've had a play and a look, according to gpsinfos 'dump screen'
It can see 12 saterlights but just wont lock on to them
this is assuming I have interpertited the $GPGSV string ok.

Just wanted to say thanks for the posts.
I'm not 100% on why it didnt pick up the maps, reinstalled TT + 5.21 patch, recopyed the maps and it's all working now.
I'm alittle baffled but never mind.

Luckerly I'm still in the uk but at work.
I have tryed to go to 'Change Preferences’ / ‘Switch Map’ but it only comes up with the gb map.
