Found the answer:
Use card reader, not Nokia PC suite. It converts the file.
Why do you only find the answers AFTER posting?

I can connect to my IPAQ using mtty, all seems ok there, but I need a ROM image. Can't find one anywhere. HP just has the ROM update utility.
Any ideas?

My 4150 has just locked up. Would not soft or hard rest.
removed battery for an hour or so and now all that shows is a white screen with HP Invent logo and 1.04H in blue & 1.02 in red.

Sorted.
Open up receiver and disconnected battery for 10 mins.
Winfast navigator and TOMTOM both get GPS signal.

Ok, un-installed tomtom, now I can select COM6 in winfast navigator.
This now seems to connect on COM6 with any settings (NEMA, 4800, COM6)(Blue LED is constant on the receiver).
No data showing on ... |

I assume the GPS2.07 is the GPS driver version number. How do you tell what version is running?
I can't find find the usual help/about screen.
