I tried two leadtek receivers and two cables (just in case!) with not the slightest sign of any communication.
Recommend you send back the Leadtek and buy a Haicom 204S

For anyone out there still struggling. I purchased a Haicom 204S and was instantly connected - worked first time!
Now to return the Tomtom receiver! |

Success! Sort of.
I purchased a Haicom 204S, plugged it in and hey presto, instant working SatNav
So much for TomTom supplied receivers |

Guys,
Thanks for your patience! The cable I'm using was supplied by tomtom for use specifcally with the E400 / E800 PDA therefore I assume it must include the necessary USB-Serial converter!
