I bought Route 66 mobile 2005 because I needed European maps as well.

Good thing I did. Used them they work very well.

Spanish coverage ie mainland is reasonable on Route 66 2005, I'd check Route 66 where details are posted for exact coverage but I'm not sure islands are covered for example
