Solution took a few steps:

1. There is a patch for the iPaq that lets it authenticate with the Nokia

Wheyhey! Had to do a hard restart in the end, followed by full install. TTN5 took a little while to figure out where it was, as was I after the beer that was needed to temper frustration. But all work ...

Ah, I see. I intend to move over to TT5.

Perhaps I should delete everything and start again? I did install TT5 over TT2 - I treated it as an upgrade patch rather than a new installation.
