I used Traffic over an 8 hour period and a 400 mile trip recently and it updated itself every 10 minutes. Total cost 40p. This is on an Orange Open Access tariff of £4 for 4MB monthly.

Has anyone asked Tom Tom why a subscription in the UK is 20 - 30 Euros more expensive than any other country? Another example of rip-off Britain?

If your BT-338 is properly paired then the blue light will pulse every second. Every 3 seconds means it's on stand-by. Try using COM port 8. This works on my SPV M2000.

Thanks for that Crocodile. It's what I feared. I'll try the hard button route as you suggest. I can't believe that a major player like Tom Tom can get away with taking over the whole PDA.
