Moving away from the software upgrade for a moment, does anyone know if the change in map data supplier means that I can't get updated maps for SmartST V1.x, assuming I decide not to upgrade to V2.

I agree. I bought mine in Jan as well and won't be very amused about forking out for the upgrade.

Gambitgander, where did you get your info from? Was it Navman support?
