TomTom Rider 400 Software

I have recently upgraded to a TomTom Rider 400 and am very disappointed. I had stupidly assumed that the software would be similar to every other Tomtom device I have owned. WRONG. This seems to be a totally new system which is awkward and clumsy to use and seems to be aimed at users under the age of 10. (For example you know longer 'Navigate to' you 'Plan a thrill' For Gawds sake!. However more seriously the useability of the itinerary planning (Now called 'Plan a route') is seriously flawed and nearly useless in practice. Before I stick it on Ebay and revert to a Rider 5 can anybody tell me if it is possible to load an earlier TomTom \navigator package onto this hardware|?

Not as far as I am aware but regarding the route planning have you looked on the tomtom forum ( https://en.discussions.tomtom.com/rider-51 )

It has been discussed at length on that forum and there are some solutions.


There are a couple of riders in the motorcycle group I ride with who have the 400 they use the same nav files as we give to everyone else. Not sure it they take the GPX of the ITN files to load but it works for them OK.
