Hi
Very new to this, when I say new, have had Sat Nav for years but never used the POIs. Someone told me about this site and I have now downloaded all the POIs I like the look of to my PC.
Big problem now, how do I transfer them to my Sat Nav.
Thanks |

Hi, and welcome.
If you go to This page, you will find a Video Guide on how to install the Camera Files. (Note that this is the same method, whether it is an 'ordinary' POI or a Camera POI).
There is also an excellent written Guide Here.
Proximity warnings are an Optional feature, and most users only use POIs for navigating to, and don't use the Warning feature.
Hope that helps. If not we'll try to answer any questions you have.
I've moved the Topic to a more appropriate location.[/b] _________________ Richard

Thank you, watched the video and have managed to do it.
Sorry another little question. I see now I have loads that I don't really need within each category, how do I delete those ones?
Thanks again. |

Do you mean individual locations within a sub-category, or a sub-category within a merged file? _________________ Richard

Yes I mean individual shops for instance that we would never go into anyway. |

Do you mean, as an example, All Tescos or just the Tesco in Hastings? |

Just be aware that if you have installed "all the POIs you like the look of", you may be pushing the ability of your 720. _________________ Dennis

You can edit out individual entries with a program such as POIEdit
However, as the POI files are relatively small, I would have thought it would be hardly worth all the effort. Also there might come a day that you need one of those locations.
The way that POIs are handled by the older TTs, makes negligible impact on the working of the PND. _________________ Richard

All that happens is the excess just don't appear in the category list _________________ Richard

Yes, I know. Plus don't they also slow the device down if they are all shown on the map?
"All the POIs I like the look of" just might be every POI except Cider Makers. _________________ Dennis
