navamn 3450 Jacket

I am considering purchasing the navman 3450 Jacket for my Ipaq 3950. A colleague has just bought TomTom 3 and is willing to let me have his version 2 at a reasonable price. Is this software better than the v2 software supplied with the Navman 3450? If so, should I install it instead, and are there likely to be any conflicts if i do?
Also, if the answer is positive, then can I but just the receiver without the mapping software? if so then from where? Having looked at buying this receiver as a combo with TT3 most adverts I have seen do not always specify the type of receiver bundled? Are they available as a unit?

As far as I'm aware you can't buy the Navman sleeve with Tomtom software. You might be able to buy just the jacket, but I have only seen it with the Smart ST Software. Maybe someone on eBay might be selling just the jacket?

Personally I much prefer Tomtom over Smart St Pro. I have found it to be more reliable and generally error free. I also prefer the 3D view that Tomtom can give you.
