I'm using CamerAlert in the background behind Sygic and find it very useful with the camera and speed alerts.
I did notice in the information for the app it says it can report your average speed in a average speed area, but you need to be on a specific screen.
Can this information be displayed on top of Sygic or other satnav apps, similar to how the speed alert is displayed if going too fast, or would this be a development request
thanks |

Unfortunately not. The pop up alerts (known as 'toasts') can only be shown for 2 seconds and are static image/text.
I suppose one way it could work is every few seconds in a specs zone to pop up your current average speed but it wouldn't be able to stay on all the time.

It is possible to work around the 1s/3s limitation (for short/long popups) by showing the popup multiple times. This would also be necessary since popups are static so whatever speed is shown will not be entirely accurate as your average speed will change over time.
The issue is more how much the permanent display of the popup will disturb your other activities. In your example the popup would prevent you from interacting with the lower part of the Sygic screen. Do you really want that? _________________ Lutz

If you meant optional, then yes. But we would need to find a place on the screen that can be sacrificed. Don't tell me you want that configurable too... _________________ Lutz

when you over-speed it alerts you with a speed symbol depicting the speed limit, and at bottom of it, it says you are doing x speed
ie down m1 the speed cams have been removed and so speed is back to 70, yet CA flashes up when go over 50 and underneath says you are doing 65.
so how about it saying when you reach the camera or leave the zone, have it flash up the speed or say 'AVERAGE SPEED XX' in the big alert |

One of the big advantages of knowing your average speed is that if you have been slowed down quite a bit, when you are clear you can speed up keeping your eye on the av spd to make sure that you don't overdo it |

Guys, I can see where you are all coming from.
But to my mind this is just over complicating things and sort of getting away from what the App is for.
There are already loads of 'customisables' in there already.
Not possible to cater for everyones different driving habits.
That's my view anyway. _________________ Triumph Tbird 1700. And now a Bonnie T100. |

that maybe true, but the app already has the built-in average speed alert, but only if you use the app at the forefront and not background.
and as it can display alerts for your over-speed then I would have thought it possible to also do the same for the average-speed when you meet a camera or exit the zone.
It could even just say 'your current average speed is xx mph' and when leave 'your average speed was xx mph' |
