I've been reading various postings which complain about map errors in TomTom 3. What's the map detail like for North Wales? I'm thinking of buying TT3 before my trip there in August. _________________ Geraint

I don't think the complaints were with regard to the accuracy of the map data itself, but rather in which the way Tomtom looks for places and streets within those places. If you know where you want to go but not how to get there, it's not so bad. _________________ Tim |

Yes there are errors in TT3, but overall what you do get from the program and maps is second to none. I use TT3 with my work in 50% of the country, and with Digitools post code program, there as not been one address I cannot find. I mention http://www.digitools.co.uk/home.php because the post code finder in TT3 is less than useless I find.
I would recommend TT to anyone.

Nothing wrong with the map accuracy, I'm from Llandudno on the coast and have used TTN extensively on travels through Snowdonia and cross much of North, Mid and South Wales when I visit without any problems.
The original issue was in respect of Town Indexing, there are a few places across the UK that have been incorrectly indexed and so do not come up in a search (although they are physically on the map). In these cases you just switch to 'MAP' mode, manually locate the destination and select it as such. Switch back to 'NAVIGATOR' mode and you're off _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thanks guys. The complaints I was hearing were a major stumbling block to me buying TT3. That stumbling block has now been removed...
Thanks. _________________ Geraint

I used TT3 (plus the postcoide add in) to find a number of pubs in and around Anglesey. It did a superb job and only got it wrong when I mixed one pub up with another.
My wife did the driving post-pub by the way. |
