I want to hard wire my 2460LMT that I've just bought.

The GPS aerial appear to be a single core wire moulded alongside the power cable. If i bury the power cable in the dash as part of a hard wire installation how can I wire the GPS antenna, eg:
a. Can I strip the aerial away from the power lead and lay it along the top of the dash?
b. Can I compact the above with bending the aerial backwards and forwards to fit into, say, a 2" square ?
c. Can I wire in a compact aerial such as the GA 25MCX (I'm happy cutting and soldering if needed)?

Thanks for any help.

The GPS antenna is in the GPS itself, if you think about it it has to be as it'll work even when not connected to the power cable Wink

It is the RDS-TMC Traffic receiver that is built in to the power chord, about 12" away from the connector that goes in to the device there should be a small plastic box moulded on to the power lead, have a close look at this as there should be a jack socket on the side of the unit, you can plug an external aerial in to this or couple it to the cars FM aerial via a small ceramic disk capacitor for issolation - Mike
