I have downloaded some POI's and they are on my PC as zipped files - how do I get them onto my Garmin 1490T ?

To unzip the files, you can just right-click on the zip-file and select "Extract all". Follow the instructions and it will create a new folder with all the individual files inside.

To upload them onto your Garmin, you use the POILoader program, just as you did to add the Speed Camera Database files (so you can use the same instructions here: Installation Guide.

POILoader always used to wipe out all the existing POI files when you loaded any new ones, so the easiest way was to keep a folder on your PC where you collect all the speed camera and other POIs, then upload them all in one go with POILoader.

Apparently the latest versions of POILoader are a bit cleverer now, but it still seems the simplest way to keep everything organised.

Maybe someone with more Garmin experience will add to this with some more detail.

ive just installed PGPSW cams onto my new 3760. It will now let you install POIs with a different name, so you can add POIs without losing your existing ones.
But installing (updating) and existing set will overwrite all of that set.

Having got the little devils to show on the map, I am infuriated by how small the icons are !! You cant see them unless you zoom right into the map - you wont be able to see them driving along.

Im going to spend another 4 hours browsing the forums to see what others have done about this.

I think You've probably done something wrong because the icons on mine are perfectly visible.

1) Are you using the 22x22 .BMP's ?
2) Are they in the same folder as the CSV/GPX files ?
3) Do they have the same filename prefix as the CSV/GPX files ?

yeah the icons are set up properly - i used the ones that come with the PGPSW speedcam download for poiloader.

I expect the issue is that they will pop up en route, but if you are simply browsing the map they wont show unless you are 2 points from max zoom.

the reason i bought this 3760 is cos the icons dont show so well on CoPilot 9 android.

Will the 24x24 BMPs make any difference ?

well i thought they might pop up on route, but on either view setting while navigating i get the warning then i can just see a tiny icon (the same size as all other POI icons) on the road.

My issue is that it is not easy to see and requires some distraction from the road ahead to find it.

This is not what I am used to on my old system (Destinator - dont laugh) - how can i make these icons bigger or more visible.

I am tearing my hair out now with these programs - thats this, ALK CP9 Premium app, and Navigon app ive wasted my time and money with now.

On my nuvi, the 24x24 icons do appear bigger than the 22x22 ones.

And they certainly appear very much bigger than the ones showing in your screenshot on your other post.
