Hi all
Ok,I have been a user of TomTom's for a good while now, but now they reduced the distance of HD live traffic service to 50 miles, I am considering the nüLink! 2390 & 3D Traffic Live. as viable alternative.
Has anyone experience of the 3D Traffic Live services?
In particular
how good is the traffic and
what is the distance traffic is shown and taken into account when undertaking a journey and rerouting to avoid traffic
eg. for a 300 mile journey, for planning/travelling the quickest route, would traffic be taken into account along the whole journey or just a certain distance ahead e.g. 100 miles ahead .
Also, can you customise the map colours and the sounds for alerts?
Thanks in advance _________________ Mick

It would be nice to see PGPSW compare the new Garmin 3D Traffic to the TomTomo HD Traffic - especially on roads off the main ones, to see if it's as good as TomTom for get not getting you into congested areas in the first place, away from the main roads (where possible, of course!)
Or is it (currently) more a case of TrafficMaster data via GPS with pics? _________________ TomTom Go Live 6100, 600

Well they don't say with dimensions are used so maybe it's the 2D on the map and the 3rd is time rather than vertical.
Or maybe because TomTom already had HD.
Anyhow I'm comparing the TT1005 and Garmin 2390 at the moment too and would like an upto date comparison of the traffic systems on both. The one review I have found comes down very heavily on HD side but does mention the range reduction.
Currently I have a Garmin 205WT which is fine but TMC traffic can be hit and miss. Need good traffic especially off motorways/dual carriage ways. (Display is only as good as the data provided.)
It would also be nice to have the colours closer to UK map standards.
What it comes down to is, is the 1005 worth the extra £50 or so?
