All cameras on the M3 and M27 can be removed.

Can we still remove these?
They have been added to the last 2 updates, i'm getting worried that i should be leaving them as they are now valid.
Can somebody tell me if these should be removed?
thx
Pete. |

I travel the M3 to London a lot and all the roadworks and subsequent Average Speed cameras between Basingstoke and the M25 (both directions) went over a year ago and it would be good to see them go from the sat nav data as well. It gets a little tiresome keep hearing of something that has been gone for so long and then you miss something that is important.
The one that is there and permanent is the slip from the M25 to the M3 southbound. Easy to forget when on your way home at 4 in the morning with not a car in sight and you got to stick to 50 on a 3 lane motorway. |

It seems unlikely that camera, that have been physically removed, would remain in the database for so long! Are you sure that you have updated the database correctly?
Can you tell us which SatNav you have and which database version you are downloading? _________________ Jock

In Feb 2009 you downloaded both the Single File and the Consolidated databases.
Since then you have always downloaded the Speed Zoned set. Perhaps you never actually removed the old february 2009 files from your device?

Thankyou both for your help.
I usually download the latest file and drag it all onto my SD card assuming I was overwriting the old data. I will physically delete all the speed camera stuff this time and hopefully give me a new up to date set because it sounds like I am retaining the old info. Had the same thing somewhere else recently as well ;-)
Thanks again for the quick response. |

if you use the same type then it's fine, but the speedzoned filenames are different to the consolidated which are different to the single file.
ones to remove would be:
pocketgps_uk_sc
pocketgps_uk_gatso
pocketgps_uk_temp
pocketgps_uk_mobile
pocketgps_uk_pmobile
pocketgps_uk_specs
All the others will be speedzoned files and can stay (and WILL be overwritten if you keep using the speed zoned set)
