Hi all,
I recentley bought a secondhand TomTom Go 700 from ebay, everything was working fine, anyway i thought i would check for update and downloaded TomTom Home.
When it had finished updating it had downgraded to navcore v7.903 from navcore 8 firmware and some of the most recent maps installed were not visible and also the sound and voices from camera alerts does not work, but the navigation voice is fine. Will i be able to upgrade back up to the latest software and maps.

Where did the Navcore 8 and "other maps" come from? I know they are not official products as they can ONLY be obtained via TomTom Home.
Your device is now running the correct Navcore version that was intended for the Go-700, Navcore 8, 9 or 10 have NEVER been released for the Go-x00 series and its highly unlikely you will ever see an update beyond 7,903 - Mike |

I guess its going to depend upon how hacked the 700 was when you got it and which features you had got used to.
A 700 running stock Navcore and maps will NOT provide any of the following:
Text To Speech
IQ Routes
Reality View
Advanced Lane Guidance
If you are used to using any of the above features then I would consider getting new hardware, whilst the 700 can be made to work with the above features it is not possible to do this via any legitimate means - Mike |
