PoiLoader has been updated to v 2.6.1 (a couple of minor bug fixes).
But, for me, it seems to have installed itself in C:\Program Files\Garmin (rather than C:\Garmin as before) and with a new shortcut to match.
So, users of .wav Voice warnings may need to copy sox.exe to the new folder (otherwise PoiLoader is liable to fail to load the voice files).
And you may need to use the New shortcut rather than the old one.

Confirmed.
I updated POI Loader and "sox.exe" is missing from the new installation package. Without this file in the same directory as POI Loader, "wav" sound files will not load to your GPS (if you use wav files - not sure about mp3 files - my 1690 seems to only like wav files).
The good thing is that this version of POI Loader will actually give you an error msge listing the files it was not able to load.
You would think as standard practice Garmin would include all the files required or atleast mention it somewhere in the installation guide.
I copied the sox.exe from the previous directory and back to normal.
Also this version asks for the destination file name on the GPS. I use "POI" (don't know if this happens because I use manual mode).
Needless to say there is nothing in the Help file about any of this and only mp3 sound files are mentioned.

The fact that it asks for the file name is great as you can then name your seperate POI files if you have them (I have UK, Europe and POIs) without having to go back to your garmin to rename poi.gpi in between loading your different poi files. A great Garmin feature and I rarely say that _________________ Navigating by Sony SatNav (built in)
