Garmin Favourites Copy Current .gpx

Trying to copy Garmin Favourites (Copy Current .gpx) from a Nuvi 250W to a Nuvi 1490T. Copies over from PC to device but then when unit is switched off and back on Current.gpx is over-written back to factory original.

Have overcome this temporarily by making Current.gpx on the unit 'Read Only'. But of course then you cannot add new Favourites !

Anyone had any luck in transferring Current.gpx successfully from Nuvi to Nuvi ?

For it to work you have to rename the file something other than current.gpx, something like temp.gpx would do. The nuvi overwrites current.gpx every time it boots so unless you rename the file it'll be simply overwritten. Your nuvi will check for any other gpx file and then merge it with the one in memory, job done.

try "easy gps" worked a treat when i transfered favourites from 205 to 1200 few weeks ago
