3790T Trip Log display.

Originally my unit did not display the trip log. Thought I'd put it on the map display to see how I got on with it. After a few days I decided that I preferred just the map. No matter what I try I now cant get rid of the trip log display on the map.
Emailed garmin about 10 days ago. They have obviously all gone out because I haven't heard anything.
Anyone else had experience of this and found the way (not the political or spiritual) of fixing it?

This issue is now resolved. Last night I updated the maps and then reset the unit to default settings.
The trip log display on the map has now gone.
I had reset the unit several times before with no effect so it must have been the update
This GPS unit should be named Alfa Romeo. Lovely to drive but quirky!
