I never do anything by half, I dropped my 910, in stepping to pick it up I kicked it, I know, so don't say it.
I digress, as I use it on a daily basis I need a replacement today before the shops close.
I'm thinking of an XL IQ Routes Edition 2 UK & ROI.
Now the question, I seem to remember that there is a problem with 3rd party PoIs not working on the TomToms any more and that TomTom had now done something to the Software to allow these again.
Am I on the right track, or has my brain completely gone now?
If these PoIs are ok to use now, how would I know if the XL I buy today has the correct Software?
Thanks for reading all this, looking forward to some help.

Out of the box the XL IQ_2 probably won't have the latest Navcore installed but don't let that put you off, when you get it home do the following:
1/ Make a full backup using Windows Explorer.
2/ Update the Navcore using TomTom Home.
3/ Install the POI files you want and configure any warnings
4/ You have four weeks to use the Latest Map Guarantee, if I were you I would keep an eye on the forum as to when the next map is released as it should be sometime this month, you might as well wait. - Mike
One of ours turned up with the family, for lunch, didn't let us know (ask).
I'm free ........... off to get the new XL IQ.
Thanks Mike for the info, great help.
I have downloaded a manual that mentions PoIs but it does not give information on adding new ones to existing PoI databases, I assume this is still possible? I add on a daily basis my customers, makes life so mush easier for the next visit.
