TT3 map accuracy

I've got TomTom 3 on 2210 plus Tom Tom bluetooth receiver. Whenever I'm sitting in the car on the drive, the map shows me as being in next-door's garden . Is this just down to the (in)accuracy of GPS, or is there something I can do about it?

unless it's doing the same when on a major road you should not worry about it. TomTom "snaps" its position to the nearest road it knows, and doesn't behave well outside of these areas.

Which is pretty frustrating at times when you have to drive off the parking lot and stop in the street to get the navigation started. Just hope you took the first turn right...ah... correctly.
