Sometimes when my Go 720 is on but unplugged I get the low battery warning very quickly then it turns off. At other times I can play with it for a long time before it happens, last night it lasted 45 minutes.

If the battery was shot I would expect it to go off quickly all the time so, before I pay out to have the battery replaced, has anyone else had this and was it cured by replacing the battery please?

Just a couple of thoughts...

1. Do you need to 'play' with it unplugged?
2. I think I have seen somwhere that replacing the battery is not that easy - certainly almost impossible for the owner.
3. Could it be that when you 'play' with it there is something that you are doing that is more battery intensive than at other times.
4. Sorry, I have not yet had a battery problem
5. Personally, I always use my devices plugged in either in the vehicle or at home via the USB port on my computer.

Have a read through This Thread and you will find a post I made which covers swapping out the battery.

Please take time to read all the thread though (all 8 pages) as there are plently of useful do's and don'ts that forum members have added - Its not too difficult but then again I am used to dealing with electronics - Mike

When my battery died it just would not charge at all.

Took me about 10 minutes to change the battery, but I am used to repairing electronic products.

I expect it would take about an hour for a novice, as you do need to be careful to avoid damaging any internal wiring or the circuit boards when attempting to remove the old battery.

When away from home I use it to find times to various possible destinations or addresses and to plan routes etc. at home it's usually plugged into the laptop.

I was planning to send it to http://satnavrepairservice.com/ but wondered before I do if it really is a battery issue.

It can go flat in minutes without touching it or it can go for a fair time while preparing routes etc.
